At Sea

The journey from Sicily to Spain took a couple of days.  Now, what to do with 48 hours at sea - other than to catch up on some much needed sleep?  I spent more of it reading.  However, there was a vegetable and fruit carving demonstration that a number of our gang attended.  The creations were displayed later on a table in the Terrace Grill, outside at the stern of the ship.  I took some photos as I thought they were pretty creative.  Lots of people thought one was a poodle but I am pretty sure the cauliflower had been transformed into a teddy bear!

After a very leisurely day, some of us met for drinks at the Lido Bar.  Jane and Mick (from Derbyshire) are disembarking tomorrow and, as if we needed another excuse for a party, we had a farewell dinner with them in the Marco Polo Restaurant.  It was "disco night" in the lounge with Richard (cruise director) singing tunes from the 70s - most of which, I would argue, were not disco (e.g. Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree").  Anyway, I wore a brightly coloured top which was the best I could do to get into the theme of it.
